A takeaway about 90,000,006 years ago

I heard a leader tell a story that probably isn’t true, but it’s too fun not to tell.

She opened a meeting by quoting a museum guard, who said a dinosaur skeleton on display was 90,000,006 years old. Why that age? Because when he was hired six years earlier, they said it was 90,000,000 years old.

Remember, strong presence isn’t always about gravitas and somber-seriousness.  The broader presence principle is the best leaders are uplifting.

They ignite our imagination about how to advance positive purposes, in ways we can feel great about doing. After interacting with them, we come out better than before, whatever might be the topic of the day, or the year, or 90,000,000 years, plus or minus a few.

Even on weighty topics, leaders with presence lift our spirits. That’s no joke, even when you use one:)

Look for ways to help us feel better about what we’re doing, or need to do better, or need to change. We don’t want to just make our numbers, we want to make a difference.

So give us reasons to believe and be enlivened.

How?

Ignite our imagination with on-point stories and examples, with inspiration from the past and possibilities for the future. Ask us for ours!  Ask us to co-create them too. The more the better.

It’s not heavy lifting to be uplifting.

That’s the takeaway: Be a Leadersaurus.
